Easy Sandwich Roll-Ups
Turn the standard sandwich into a fun roll-up even picky eaters might welcome. Flattening bread with a rolling pin is the twist. And it's a job your preschooler can do! Flattened bread beats tortillas because it won't fall apart like tortillas can. Preschoolers will love to hold these rolls and as an added bonus, they make for less mess!
Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich Roll-Up
Step 1: Remove the crust from two slices of whole wheat bread.
Step 2: With a rolling pin, roll the bread until flattened evenly. Your preschooler can do this step!
Step 3: Spread a small amount of peanut butter on one slice of the bread. Use about half of what you would normally use for a regular sandwich. Leave a thin area on one edge of the bread uncovered.
Step 4: Spread a small amount of fruit preserves or jam on top of the peanut butter.
Step 5: Roll the bread, starting with the edge opposite the one with the clean edge. Press slightly to make it stick together.
Step 6: Repeat for the second slice of bread.
