Serving a special beverage for your preschooler is one way to add a new twist. While the adults are enjoying, well, adult beverages, the kids can enjoy this sweet lassi - a traditional Indian beverage that you can make plain or with a favorite fruit.
How to Make a Holiday Lassi Drink
Step 1:Put the following ingredients into a blender. Blend until smooth and the sugar is dissolved, about ½ minute.
1 cup plain yogurt
2 Tbsp heavy cream
2 Tbsp sugar or honey
Step 2:
Add about 5-6 ice cubes and blend until cubes are crushed and drink is frothy.
Step 3:
Pour the drink into mugs and enjoy! This lassi recipe makes about 2-3 servings.
Lassi Recipe Notes and Variations
You can prepare the lassi ahead of time and refrigerate. Re-blend the lassi in a blender just before serving.Fruit Variation:
Add fruit for a fruity and flavorful holiday lassi. Mango lassi is common but you can other fruits such as bananas or strawberries. Or, add orange juice. Add about one banana, four strawberries, or ¼ cup orange juice to the original recipe above.
If your preschooler likes a little spice, add a pinch of cinnamon or cardamom to froth of the lassi.
